At Oak & Ash Learning Centre, we ensure every child is truly known as an individual. Our provision is intentionally small, allowing us to build strong, trusting relationships and tailor learning to each child's specific needs. We dedicate time to understanding every child's strengths, interests, and barriers to learning, creating personalised pathways that help them regain confidence and experience success.
More than education: reconnecting with learning
We provide more than just education, we help children reconnect with learning. Our approach combines high-quality teaching with specialist SEND support, therapeutic practice, and enriching outdoor learning through Forest School. We understand that children cannot thrive academically until they feel safe, understood, and emotionally supported. By nurturing well-being alongside learning, we help children develop resilience, independence, and a genuine belief in their own abilities.

A day at Oak & Ash
A typical day at Oak & Ash Learning Provision is carefully balanced to meet both the educational and emotional needs of every child. We know that children learn best when they feel safe, settled, and connected, so each day begins with a calm welcome, breakfast if needed, and a check-in with a trusted adult. This gives children the opportunity to talk about how they are feeling, set goals for the day, and begin learning with confidence.
The morning focuses on personalised learning in English and mathematics, with teaching adapted to each child's individual needs, interests, and learning style. Small group sizes allow us to provide targeted support while celebrating progress at every stage, helping children rebuild confidence in their own abilities. One of the highlights of the day is our outdoor learning and Forest School programme. Rather than seeing the outdoors as a reward, we view it as an essential part of the curriculum. Children may work together to build shelters and engage in a range of bush crafts.
